Discovery Village Part #1

What's great about Portland is that we are so close to so many things. If we want to take a trip to Seattle, drive time is about 3 hours. If we want to go to the beach, drive time is about 1 1/2 hours. If we want to go to the mountains, drive time is about 1 hour. Within that 3 hour drive to Seattle, or that 1 hour to the mountains, we can do 3 or 4 things in one day because there is just SO much to do. Portland and the surrounding areas are just so rich with activities for all ages, that every weekend seems like a new adventure.

The A.C Gilbert Discovery Village is about 1 hour away in Salem, Oregon. Connor and I have gone there before, but we wanted to go back with Dada this time, so he could enjoy the fun as well. It's actually quite amazing how much can change in 6 months. The last time we went, Connor was just skimming the surface of what the children's museum had to offer. This time when we went, it was neat watching his brain work. They had everything from a bubble room, to an exhibit about dinosaurs, to a train table. I could probably write half of a page just on the things they had to offer. Here are some pictures of Connor and all of the activities he got to enjoy! (Oh, and it was FREE - thanks to the cultural pass at the library!)

Boy, that was hard to get on! (That's what she said!)

He loves his dinosaurs

It was adorable watching him try to blow bubbles : )

He was really trying, I give him credit lol.

He was in awe

So, he and Dada did it!

This was a representation of the stomach, complete with a ball pit lol

Fitting, since he loves brushing his teeth!

Pressing this made the lung representation inhale and exhale. That was neat

Frustrating. Just like operation!

First thing Connor did was take his head off

Aww

Every time he moved, his shadow moved. Try to figure that one out Connor lol

He'd be a cute captain : )
