We had our Christmas plans all laid out. We'd decorate the tree early, leave for Buffalo with enough time to get there for Christmas Eve, spend all day at the Harvey's on Christmas morning, see my parents the next day, and spend the rest of our holiday time with friends and family. WELL, that didn't happen. One night, a few days before Christmas, Connor woke up and got sick. Not once, not twice, but three times. We assumed it was something he ate and it would pass. Little did we know, Daddy would get it two days later, so severe we ended up in the emergency room. After he was able to get some fluids and anti-nausea medicine, it was perfect timing for me to get it. I don't think I've ever been so sick in my entire life. It literally wiped out our family for days. And talk about timing!!
After laying in bed for days, drinking Gatorade and little else, we mustered enough strength and courage to get up and decorate our Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. We wanted to still make things special for Connor, and enjoy our first major holiday in our new home. I made them a nice dinner, we decorated the tree, and then went for a drive to see the Festival of Lights. It wasn't what we had originally intended, but we made it work. Connor didn't know any different, and if he did, he seemed not to care.
Oh yeah, and excuse our boxes, dishelved appearances, and UGLY drapes : ) It literally took every ounce of us to decorate that tree. All are better now!
