When I think of Easter, I think back to Connor's 1st Easter in which he was sucking the sugar of of his first peep. He had no idea what was going on, except that he was on a sugar high and was receiving gifts from a basket.
This year, Ryan and I decided to introduce Connor to the infamous Easter Bunny. There was a breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the California Pizza Kitchen, with all proceeds going to the Easter Seals. I figured what the heck, we'd try it, and then venture over to the zoo afterward for an Easter egg hunt.
The place was absolutely mobbed when we got there. I just assumed it was from 8:30 - 10:00 with people staggering in when they rolled out of bed. Apparently not. We got there around 9:15 and sat right next to the stereo (screaming girls & Radio Disney was just peachy). Problem #1. Then the manager came over and informed us that they ran out of breakfast pizzas. Problem #2. However, we were to order something off of the regular menu instead. So, we ended up ordering better food for no cost. Thankfully, that was Solution #1 & #2. It actually worked out to our advantage. We were pleasantly surprised how Connor was with the Easter Bunny. We really thought he'd cry and run for the hills, but we at least got a picture out of it!
After the breakfast, we decided to head over to the zoo for their "Rabbit Romp". We are zoo members, so we didn't have to pay anything for the event, and of course free is always a good word to hear! They had sections of the lawn roped off for each age group, so Connor was in the 2 and under crowd. It was nice to be in their own areas so they didn't get robbed by the selfish older ones : ) All-in-all we had a fun time, but we could have done without the rain and cold temperatures!
