Toledo Zoo

Tiffany, Colin, Connor and I decided to venture over to the Toledo Zoo so we could enjoy what was left of the fall weather (I know, I know, I'm so behind on blogging!!). Colin and Connor were chomping at the bit to get out of the car and run around (it took a little under 2 hours to get there) so once we got there, they were off! We saw so many animals, had some lunch and then let the boys run around some more. They had so much fun running around, that by the time we left they took a nice snooze in the car. Fresh air really does wonders! I was really impressed with how clean it was, although it was a bit spread out, and there was a lot of walking involved. At least they had elephant though :p (The Detroit zoo does not!) I see another trip there with Daddy in our future!!

Colin & Connor checking out the seals

I didn't realize they were that big!

They found them!

The wheels are turning...he knows this either says do not feed animals, or stay off fence!

Who can get there first!?

"The Greatest Show On Earth"

When we lived in Portland, we took Connor to the Barnum & Bailey Circus when he was around 2. On the drive there, I looked in my purse, said an expletive, and realized I forgot our camera at home. So much for being an organized mom : ) We ended up buying an outrageously expensive camera there, with pictures that were pretty much non existent (on a side note though, he still plays with that ridiculously overpriced camera, snapping pictures around the house) When we heard they were coming to Michigan, we didn't at all hesitate in saying we would go!

Overall it was a great experience. They had a preshow before hand where the kids could meet and greet some of the performers, and watch them practice some of their stunts. They could try on costumes as well, even though Connor was more interested in watching juggling and the giant elephant doing tricks. Barnum & Bailey know how to do a circus right, even if they do charge $12 for cotton candy!

Thanks to the Melton family for inviting us!!
