Dinosaurs

One of Connor's new obsessions has become dinosaurs. Our new friends Tiffany and Colin invited us to go with them to the Cranbrook Institute of Science where they had a really neat dinosaur exhibit through January. We decided to check it out, and grabbed a membership since a lot of other places seem to have reciprocal  membership which will save us a lot of money in the end! That, and we can go as many times as we want, and it's already paid for : )

A lot of times when we go somewhere I try to take control and guide him to certain things so he can check them out and I can be a cheesy mom and grab a quick picture for the scrapbook/blog. One of the things I'm trying to work on is not guiding him to certain places (it's been tough!) but let him do his own thing and explore on his own and stay within eye sight. Even when we go to the zoo, I let him go where he wants because in the grand scheme of things, I'm there for him and his enjoyment. Whatever makes him happy, makes me happy! It's a work in progress, but I'm getting better!!

I had to explain to him that this was an actual dinosaur : ) He said it looked different than the ones at home!

Connor and Colin exploring some more dinosaurs

I don't remember what the concept was, but he just liked spinning it!

More bones

Cute dinosaur play area

Digging for fossils

Another Day, Another Fall Festival

Another glorious thing about Michigan is that there are so many cider mills and pumpkin patches, you could do two every weekend, and still not get through them all! We decided to head over to the famous Blake's Pumpkin Patch a few weekends before Halloween, and the place was absolutely mobbed. I guess it's quite the popular place to go during the fall! They had pretty much the same thing as the apple picking place you saw in the last post, but we decided to venture out to the pumpkin patch and grab a few pumpkins. Poor Connor couldn't lift the one he picked, but we made sure he got one on the way out that was just his size : )

Cute as a button : )

Trying to pose

They were so not into Connor and his cone of food

Daddy & Connor at the Storytime Barn...some of them were quite frightening!

Being gentle with the goat. Why can't he be this gentle with our felines??

Those holes don't look like heads to me haha :p

He grows so fast!

 Scaling hay mountain!

Riding the horse swing

Trying to get a nice picture out of him is like pulling teeth. Welcome to the 2's!

Decisions, decisions!

Trying to find the perfect pumpkin

Helping Mommy carry our new pumpkin

Finally, just my size : )
