Spending Some Time With Dinosaurs!

Walking With Dinosaurs was coming to town, and Ryan and I hemmed and hawed about taking Connor to go see it. We figured it was a once in a lifetime thing, but were still weary about how Connor would react to them. He LOVES dinosaurs, but when we rented "Land Before Time" he cried and we turned it off. We didn't decide until a few days before the show that we were going to go. We figured if we bought tickets in the 300 section, we could leave if Connor was upset knowing that we didn't waste too much money for the show.

When we got to the show, Connor just took everything in and looked around. He was very comfortable in his seat too! When the show started and the dinosaurs came out, he did so well. He was more excited than anything, and he loved the entire show. It was really neat to see the different eras of dinosaurs, and they had a tour guide which made it feel like we were really there. We are so glad we took him, and up next is Sesame Street Live, first row : )

Happy Chinese New Year!

I bet you didn't know that it passed. Don't worry, we had no idea when it was either. I stumbled upon it on Metro Parent, and thought it would be neat to go and see how their culture celebrates their New Year. It was downtown at the Chinese Gardens, which are just beautiful. They had lantern making, dancing exhibits, dragon parades, and storytelling (these were just a few things we went to, there were more!) We'd never been there before, so it was nice to explore and take some pictures of the scenery and what we saw. I post pictures a lot on the blog because sometimes words don't do justice to some of the things we do : )

It was actually pretty busy!

Feed Me!

Recently I had been hunting the Metro Parent magazine for something fun and inexpensive to do. I came across the Northwest Kids Fair, where they had activities for kids, and companies pretty much trying to get your business. Needless to say, we got a lot of free stuff, some priceless pictures, and time together as a family. Connor got balloons, crayons, coloring books, stickers, coupons for Mama, and time with the animals in the petting zoo. He was a little shy at first feeding the animals, and continued to be, so Dada and I ended up feeding them the rest of the food that we had. He loved waving them and saying "hi" but that was pretty much the extent of it. When we asked him if he wanted to feed the goats, he would simply say "no" and walk away LOL. Enjoy!

Don't Eat That!

Since Connor is going to be turning 2 soon, I figured I'd dive into the world of Play-dough. I mean, who doesn't love playing with Play-dough? I remember sitting with my preschoolers as they played, and I would sit along side them and use the shapes and rollers and whatever else we had, to make my own creation. I digress..Anyways, one Saturday afternoon, we decided to bring it out as a fun activity we could all do together. Naturally, as soon as I put it on the table, Connor said "eat", and we said "Oh, no". He actually got the hang of it pretty quick, and I'm glad I purchased it. Here are some adorable pictures of Connor discovering Play-dough for the first time! Oh yeah, and notice how Connor used the knife every time he played with it? Of course, we made sure he had OTHER options as well : )

Love Is In The Air!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Ryan and I kept it low key, and just had dinner and a movie as our treat to each other (it doesn't take much to make us happy :) Connor had a small party at our friend Jody's house, where the boys played, had some treats and an adorable heart-shaped pizza! We are sooo thankful for everyone in our lives, and wish we could have enjoyed the day with everyone : )

Sunday morning Connor received a little treat from Dada and I. Since he just loves Elmo, we got him an Elmo that says "I love you". He also got play-dough in the shape of a heart, some yummy M & M's, and a special book. We love him to pieces : )

Pizza Pizza

Ah, another adventure. That's the thing I love most about being a SAHM. I get to experience so much with him and create memories that will hopefully last forever. Papa's Pizza has been on our list of "to-do" activities, and we finally got around to it. We've heard good things about it from our friends, and Jody actually had her son's (Bobby) 1st birthday there (unfortunately we were unable to attend). They have a pizza buffet, with pizzas of all kinds, salad, soup, and bread-sticks. The play area is included, and they usually don't charge if your child eats off of your plate. We had so much fun with our friends. Who doesn't love pizza and playing?
